No Peanuts! provides support and resources to professional translators and interpreters in demanding and receiving a living wage for their work.
To understand what No Peanuts! is all about, the best place to start is the No Peanuts! Statement of Principles.

Join No Peanuts! for Translators, a growing international group of professional translators and interpreters who have one goal in common: they demand a living wage for their work.
Living wages for translators and interpreters isn’t just a slogan. It’s a commitment to our future.

It looks so useful. Thanks a lot to you all.
…maybe it’s evolution, not revolution…
Cruz – we like it with or without the “R”. Thanks! Would you like to become an Official Endorser?
Thanks, I was waiting for this ” Translators Movement” long long time ago. Wellcome for justis and fair payment for hours spent to make better understanding between nations.
Great!…
Though I like yummy peanuts, it’s the last thing I would ever work for!
Does blogging help?
Proz.com has made some cosmetic changes, but bascially, the rates stay as low as ever. Given that my minimum is 0,10 eurocent, I have yet to see an offer on Proz.com where price-information is visible.
Most are hidden due to rates of 0.01-0.06$. $ when the outsourcer and both the translator live in the eurozone. Translation of a balance-sheet at those rates.
I wonder if any accountant would work for such rates?
Why don’t we become webdeveloppers. There is always room for a quality portal for translators, charging a hefty membership fee, but allowing only postings from outsourcers, who pay a decent rate. It creator could earn a lot.
I welcome the initiative! You got my vote!
Piedad!! for I am lost… I just found myself in the Endorsements page. Please ignore my repeated confirmation…
Hi, Cruz. Sorry if I didn’t respond to your messages, but yes: You are on the List of Endorsers and we thank you!
Congratulations! I look forward to your insights on this topic.
Best of luck,
Patricia
Strike the phrase “living wage”: wages are for staff slaves, and we are FREElancers. Think “sustainable fees” or the like instead and you’re farther along toward making a decent living.
Hi, Kevin. Here’s why we like it! http://nopeanuts.wordpress.com/2010/05/09/living-wage/
